On June 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm we got married at the Spice Factory in our hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
We did our first look earlier in the afternoon to get some alone time and hit some picture locations away from the venue. It was a bit of a hectic morning as we had to set up some stuff at the venue, as well as picking up the catering. It was also a bit of a rush getting make up done and then getting my dress on at the house.
We walked to the church at the end of our street and grabbed our first set of photos. I remember telling Leigh at this point that he needed to talk less, otherwise we would be getting a bunch of photos of him with his mouth open.
We found some cool contrasting environments – stone, trees, brick, wood!
We walked down Locke Street and popped into CIMA for We had a great time shooting at CIMA. It’s such a beautiful location and the cocktails are great!
Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy that we were there getting photos done. We got an Uber that took us to the Bruce Trail for some photos.
Our Uber drove us to the Spice Factory and we grabbed some photos in the alley before the ceremony.
There are some pretty awesome photo locations in Hamilton and I’m glad we got the time together to explore and shoot some fun areas.
Our venue was perfect for our wedding. It is so Hamilton! I can’t thank our family and friends for helping us to set up.
It was wonderful to have my Dad walk me down the aisle! Jamie put together a wonderful ceremony for us that included all of our friends and family.
I Leigh, am so very excited to take you, Vanessa, to be my beautiful wife. You are smart, thoughtful, organized, assertive, and crafty, in both ways. Our relationship has grown and become so much stronger during our life together. You are my sounding board and counter balance for everything, the comfort and safety I seek, and you are the home I can’t wait to get back to. I promise to love and respect you and I generally think you’re awesome. I love you so much and I’m excited to take this next step
I Vanessa, am proud to take you, Leigh, to be my husband in equal love and as a partner on my path. I promise to honor and cherish you in sorrow and joy until death do us part. We have come a long way since our first date, especially since I never though I’d see you again, all the way to the day I asked you to marry me. I will promise to always support you, clean up after the Leigh-nado has landed, and I will always love you unconditionally. I love that we are on this journey together and I can’t wait for our future.
